toquechicago is made up of musicians who bring a strong blend of several key qualities which enable us to make this presentation more than just a concert.

We believe all audiences, regardless of background or age, should hear this music and learn where it comes from as well as what its about.

We are all accomplished performers and recording artists, we bring a high level of musicianship to all the music we perform.

We each have our own strong connections and experiences with the culture that  our show represents. We care a great deal about sharing cultural background in order to take the learning experience beyond music alone. It can provide a glimpse into entirely different ways of life and learning.

As serious educators, we have experience with people of all ages and backgrounds (K-12, secondary education, professional musicians……….).

We are able to (and enjoy!) talking to our audience about the music we perform.  This enables us to make our time with the audience more than a performance, but an experience.
